The Andhra Pradesh government yet again prolonged the movie ticket prices controversy. The petition filed by theatres owners in the AP High Court came for hearing today and in the latest hearing the AP government requested the court to allot more time.
The AP government informed the High Court that it has appointed a committee and very soon it will hold discussion with the people from Telugu film industry. Citing this, the state government requested for additional time from the High Court.
Getting convinced, the AP High Court postponed the next hearing to February 10th. Last week the committee met for a preliminary round of consultation and the next is expected to take place later this week.
Before the next hearing, if the committee submits its report, the state government will have to take a decision in case the government has intentions to settle down the controversy. The committee’s findings will play a huge role in the government’s decision on ticket prices.
So for now there won’t be any hike in ticket prices in AP until the High Court resolves the matter. In the meantime the big releases such as ‘Radhe Shyam’ and ‘Acharya’ are likely to get affected.
