Stall RRR Release, PIL Filed In HC

A public interest litigation (PIL) has been lodged in Telangana High Court against the magnum opus movie ‘RRR’ featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles. This petition was filed by Alluri Soumya of West Godavari.

The petitioner requested the High Court to deny censor certificate to ‘RRR’ and also stall the release of the film. Alleging that the history related to freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem was twisted in the feature film, the petitioner requested the court to take appropriate action.

This petition reached the bench of Justices Ujjal Bhayan and Venkateswara Reddy. Since it’s a PIL, the bench informed that the petition will be accepted and hearing would take place. In a day or two the court will take up the hearing on behalf of the petitioner.

This Rajamouli’s mega budget movie was supposed to release on January 7th but due to the rise in Covid-19 cases, the release was postponed indefinitely.
