Pushpa & Akhanda – Now Becoming Lockdown Films

Two of the biggest hits of 2021 and even doing great in the first week of January when the whole country is getting gripped in the pandemic fear are none other than Allu Arjun’s Pushpa and Balakrishna’s Akhanda movie. Both movies are having a great run so far and collected big numbers, a number that was quite unexpected by trade pundits.

Guess what, in the wake of an imminent night curfew followed by lockdown, these two big films are going to serve people as their lockdown treats too.

After a lot of dillydallying finally, it was confirmed the other day that Pushpa will release on Amazon Prime Video on Jan 7th, while Akhanda will hit Hotstar from Jan 21st. Both the OTTs have officially confirmed the dates, while Pushpa’s Hindi version is still pending release.

That means the audience who have enjoyed the films in theatres and those who missed it out in theatres will be now able to catch them up on their home screen.

Some apartment complexes are already planning to watch it on community home theatres such that they will have theatrical experience with Akhanda and Pushpa during the lockdown.
