The expected releases for Sankranthi this year had to move away due to obvious reasons and Bheemla Nayak was the first one to do so. Not just due to the Covid scare, but Bheemla Nayak paved the way to other releases like RRR and Radhe Shyam, choosing a release date of February 25. RRR and Radhe Shyam too did not make it to theaters and that’s a different story. Bheemla fans are skeptical of the new release date too until the makers assured that it is February 25 indeed.
Bheemla Nayak is heard to have finished the patchwork parts and is all set for the announced outing. While this is on one side, there are new doubts about the movie due to the run time. Bheemla Nayak is reportedly cut short to only 2 hours 12 minute run time, while the original Ayyappanum Koshiyum runs for almost 3 hours. Cutting a solid 50-minute showtime is appreciable, but can it connect to the audience and bring the feel in that time, is the question here.
Also, Bheemla Nayak is having a small romantic track and a song with Nitya Menon, which was not in the original. The longer run time in Ayyappanum Koshiyum is due to the slow narration and lag at times, which is why the Bheemla Nayak makers decided to keep it crisp and clear with a racy screenplay.
For now, the run time is said to be one of the biggest advantages of Bheemla Nayak and it gives space for an extra show in theaters. Saagar Chandra directed the film and Trivikram wrote the dialogues. The songs are already popular from Thaman’s composition.
