Mahaan Teaser: When Gandhi Turns ‘Violent’

Chiyaan Vikram and his son Dhruv Vikram have teamed up together for the first time for the film Mahaan. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, this movie opted for a straight release on Amazon Prime Video. The teaser of the film was released just about a while ago.

The teaser introduces us to the character of Gandhi Mahaan, which is played by Vikram. During his childhood, his father asks him to fight for the prohibition of ‘Naatu Saara’. He also takes a promise from the young lad.

However, Mahaan becomes a liquor baron once he grows up. He breaks his promise and becomes a contrasting personality to his name. What might have persuaded him in breaking his promise, seems to be the core point of the film.

The teaser is accompanied by a brilliant background score composed by Santosh Narayanan. However, the makers kept Dhruv Vikram’s character a secret in the teaser. There is only one shot of him in the whole teaser. We have to see if we get to know more about his role in the trailer.

Mahaan features Simha, Simran, Sananth, and Muthukumar in the other key roles. It is slated for a worldwide premiere on February 10. Vikram is in a dire need of a hit. We have to see if this film brings him back on the success track.
