Gangubai Trailer: Alia’s Swag All The Way

Ever since it was announced that Alia Bhatt will be acting in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, a huge anticipation was built around the film. After getting delayed for quite a few times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this movie is now gearing up for the release.

The makers have unveiled the trailer just a few minutes ago. It showcases Alia’s swag as the leader of Kamathipura. The trailer introduces us to the character of Gangubai who grows up in Kamathipura as a prostitute. Over the time, she becomes a leader and fights for the rights of the women who are residing in the red light district of Bombay.

Alia’s transformation was brilliant and she pulled off such an intense character with ease. The way she showcased the fierceness as well as the sarcasm of Gangubai is exceptional. It looks like Gangubai Kathiawadi will remain another feather in the hat of Alia.

The other show-stealer of the trailer is the incredible Vijay Raaz, who played the role of a eunuch. Just in a few glimpses, he proved that his role will be very crucial in the film. Ajay Devgn’s character might be minimal in the film but he carried off the screen very well with his persona.

The dialogues are very sharply-written and brings out the flavour of Mumbai’s accent. The production design is very well done. It needs a special mention. The cinematography looks beautiful too.

On the whole, the trailer was cut very well and it increased the anticipation around Gangubai. The film is all set for a grand release on February 25.
