Why They Are Not Making A Telugu Film?

Director duo Raj and DK are the trending filmmakers in the Indian OTT arena right now. These talented directors made their mark in Bollywood with films like Shor in the City and Go Goa Gone. But it is the Family Man web series that brought them stardom.

After the success of The Family Man series, they are now doing another web series for Amazon Prime Video. While it is still in the works, Raj and DK announced their new OTT project, Guns and Gulaabs.

Netflix will be backing this new series, which is touted to be a quirky crime thriller. The cast and crew details of this series are yet to be announced. The works of it will begin soon. This will be Netflix’s second collaboration with Raj and DK, after the last year’s release Cinema Bandi.

Meanwhile, it has to be noted that Raj and DK are Telugu-born people. They have also produced films like D For Dopidi and Cinema Bandi in Tollywood. But never did they direct any straight Telugu film. People are wondering why they haven’t done that till now.

That’s indeed a genuine doubt. Why Telugu producers are not approaching Raj and DK? Or the duo is only interested in directing pan-India content that will appeal to wider sections of the audiences? Or do they just want to stick to the OTT content which can bring them more money?

There are many such questions and only Raj and DK can answer them. Meanwhile, Telugu folks are eagerly waiting to see their directorial venture down here.
