Of late, various Bollywood actresses are debuting in the Telugu film industry. Earlier, Telugu filmmakers used to be afraid of signing up B-Town heroines due to their heavy remuneration demands.
Moreover, the heroines also used to look down upon South Indian films.
But that is not the case anymore. The Telugu film industry is producing some of the expensive films in India right now.
On top of that, films like Baahubali and Pushpa are gaining pan-India success.
On the other side, Bollywood films are struggling to survive in theatres. That is the reason why many B-Town beauties are landing in Hyderabad.
Already, Alia Bhatt is making her debut in Telugu with RRR. Her upcoming release Gangubai Kathiawadi is also getting a Telugu dubbed version along with the original Hindi version. Apart from these, Alia also signed NTR’s next film under the direction of Koratala Siva. All these factors prove that Alia is definitely eyeing to expand her market in the Telugu states.
Young heroines like Ananya Pandey and Janhvi Kapoor are also doing the same. They are making their Telugu debuts alongside Vijay Deverakonda in Liger and Jana Gana Mana respectively.
Another B-Town beauty Kiara Advani is also focusing on pan-India Telugu films and is acting alongside Ram Charan in RC 15.
The same is the case with Deepika Padukone who is working with Prabhas in Project K.
All these heroines are getting a high remuneration and wider reach with these pan-India Telugu films. Getting popularity down the South with regional films can also push the business of their other Hindi films down here.
Thus, we can call Tollywood the new Bollywood now, opined a few industry folks.
