India has been witnessing significant and timely development in the railway sector and we are now observing something pretty positive with regard to manufacturing powers of Andhra Pradesh.
A set of driverless Metro cabins that were designed and manufactured in Andhra Pradesh are now being exported to Mumbai for daily operations, and this project has been completed in a record time.
Incidentally, Alstom’s Sri City facility in Andhra Pradesh is manufacturing next-gen driverless-ready metro trains for Mumbai and they’ve handed delivery of the same within a timeframe of 14 months.
Alstom’s first of 39 driverless Metropolis trains for Lines 4 & 4A built in just 14 months at Sri City were transported to Mumbai and they will come to operation very soon.
The government of Andhra Pradesh, under the leadership of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, had been aspiring to develop the state to the manufacturing hub of India. Now, such extremely positive developments, including the timely delivery of such a big Metro project will certainly help the prospect.
Delighted to see AP-manufactured driverless coaches headed for Mumbai metro. A great example of how Indian-built products are powering our urban infrastructure story, IT Minister Lokesh posted on this matter.
