Hello March! Will AP Make A Demarche?

For the past few months, the Andhra government and Tollywood biggies have been in back to back discussions over the low cap on movie ticket prices. The recent delegation of CM Jagan with several actors resulted in nothing new or positive.

Just when everyone was quite upbeat about the assurance given by the government, the release of Bheemla Nayak has once again triggered harsh discussions and mayhem between Tollywood and YCP leaders.

Now that we all have welcomed a new month, TFI and cinemagoers are waiting for the Andhra government to make a demarche or a political statement, at least in a soft-pedalling manner now.

March will see some much-anticipated movies such as RRR, Radhe Shyam, RamaRao on Duty, and AMJ releases. The repeated moods of theatres having expressed their discontent with the ticket price-fixing and the AP Cine Exhibitors Association upset with the government intervening in the matters is crawling and getting nonchalant day by day.

It is time for a real change as all our happiness of watching a film is being dominated by unfading political discussions. When the government raided or sealed theatres in various regions, citing malpractices and operating without renewing licences, several leading actors, directors, and film industry figures have spoken out against the decision, urging the state government to reconsider ticket pricing. And the situation is still intact and incessant. With the big film releases ahead, we hope there will be clarity and settlement of dispute real soon.
