Genelia used to be one of the top actresses in the Telugu film industry during the 2000s. She had acted alongside various star heroes like NTR Jr, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and Ram Pothineni. She also scored many hits like Bommarillu, Satyam, Dhee and Ready.
After marrying Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh in 2012, Genelia bid adieu to Telugu cinema. Her last Telugu release was the 2012 release Naa Ishtam.
She is now all set to make a comeback into Tollywood after a gap of a decade. Genelia is signed up to play a pivotal role in an untitled project which is being bankrolled by Vaarahi Chalana Chitram.
The pooja ceremony of this movie was held the other day. Popular politician Gaali Janardhan Reddy’s son Kireeti is making his acting debut with this film. Sree Leela of Pelli SandaD fame is playing the female lead in it. Radha Krishna is directing the project.
Director SS Rajamouli attended as the chief guest for the pooja ceremony.
Meanwhile, Genelia said that she feels like a newcomer by coming back to the sets after a long gap of 10 years and working with such a young team. She wished all luck to debutant Kireeti and the rest of the cast and crew.
