Prashant Neel Believes Salaar 2 Is Improbable As Of Now

The remakes and sequels have become a trend nowadays. Every other pan-India and big-budget film is speculated to have two parts. If a movie has been a huge box office hit and has the potential to be extended through further, sequels will be made. But even before the release, Prabhas’ Salaar is rumoured to have two parts.

Director Prashanth will move on to shoot for Salaar with Prabhas from the month of May, after the release of KGF 2. The team has already completed shooting 30 percent of the film, and the remaining portions will be completed by the end of this year. The film is expected to release somewhere around Summer 2023.

Over the last few months, there have been speculations about a sequel to Salaar. Talking about the same, Prashant said that he is not sure at the moment. “Salaar is not something that we are planning as Part 1 and 2 at this point of time,” he said. The director said that he would not want to do anything that dilutes the story and gives an imbalance to the plot just to make extra bucks.

The filmmaker further said that he would announce it right away if he feels that the story warrants a part two. “I have not yet given it a thought. I will discuss it with Prabhas sir and if he is also okay with it, we would go ahead with it. As of now, we have not discussed Salaar 2 for a single day,” he clarifies. Prabhas will essay the role of a never-seen-before gangster in Salaar. The film also stars Shruti Haasan as the female lead.
