Is Beast director out of Rajinikanth’s next?

Recently, Superstar Rajinikanth announced his new film with director Nelson Dilipkumar. Tentatively titled Thalaivar 169, this film will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer of it.

Nelson Dilipkumar made his directorial debut with Ko Ko Kokila and shot to fame with Doctor. Both these films are crime comedies. Nelson is known for his dark humour. He made his third film Beast with Thalapathy Vijay.

There were many expectations on this film but it ended up as a flop. Right from day one, Beast garnered negative talk and eventually, it became a failure at the box office.

After Beast’s result, it is rumoured that Rajinikanth and Sun Pictures dropped the idea of working with Nelson. However, the director indirectly stated that these are just mere rumours.

Commenting on one such rumour, he wrote, ‘Better luck next time’ on his social media profile. He also added Thalaivar 169 to his bio on Twitter.

With this, Nelson confirmed that he is onboard for Rajini’s next. The shoot of this film is expected to begin in a couple of months.
