The nationwide success of South Indian regional films like RRR, Pushpa, and KGF 2 has once again proved that South filmmakers are the only ones in the current generation who can score pan-India successes.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan is not in the mood to believe the term pan-India film. In a recent interview with a leading portal, Abhishek Bachchan stated that the current situation is a ‘wonderful period’ for the Indian film industry.
He stated that he has never been the one to classify films in the sense of pan-India appeal. According to him, a good film works and a bad film doesn’t. It is as simple as that.
When asked about the success of recent South Indian films, Abhishek said that there are Bollywood films like Sooryavanshi and Gangubai Kathiawadi which did pretty well at the box office.
Speaking about the larger-than-life and hero-centric films’ successes, Bachchan said that he is not sure whether he can call it a comeback of a certain kind of cinema. He opined that he is happy to see these films doing well and theatres getting houseful.
Abhishek was last seen in the film Dasvi, which had a direct release on Netflix.
