Watch over Weekend: Interesting releases in theatres & OTT

We may not have big releases this Friday but an array of small films are hitting both theatres and OTT platforms. Here is a look at this week’s theatre and OTT releases:

1. Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam
   After Paagal, Vishwak Sen is back with his new film Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam. Touted to be a romantic drama, this film is slated for release on May 6. Rukshar Dhillon plays the female lead in this movie.
2. Jayamma Panchayati
   Anchor Suma played the lead role in this rural comedy-drama. It hits the screens this Friday.
3. Bhala Thandanana
   Bankable actor Sree Vishnu is coming up with his new outing Bhala Thandanana on May 6. Directed by Chaitanya Danthuluri, this film features Catherine Tresa as the female lead.
4. Saani Kaayidham
   Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh acted together in this intense violent thriller. This Arun Matheswaran directorial will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on May 6. The Telugu dubbed version, titled “Chinni”, will also release on the same day.
5. Jhund
   This Amitabh Bachchan-starrer film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nagraj Manjule. It will premiere on Zee5 on May 6.
6. Man of the Match
   Starring Dharmanna Kadur and K Jayaram in the lead roles, this Kannada film will premiere on the Amazon Prime Video on May 5.
7. Thar
   Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor and his son Harshavardhan Kapoor acted together in this Netflix action thriller. It will premiere on May 6.
8. Home Shanti
   This is a Disney+Hotstar original series that features Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak in the lead roles. It premieres on May 6.
