‘Taapsee, You’re Not B Grade Actress’

After Kangana Ranaut’s remarks on Taapsee Pannu where the former described Taapsee as a B-grade actress, Taapsee has got surprise compliments from a non-filmy celebrity. The SC Justice and former Chairman of the Press Council of India Markandey Katju has heaped compliments on Taapsee. Here is an interesting exchange of words, tweets between Markandeya Katju and Taapsee.

It all started when Justice Markandey Katju praised Taapsee’s performance in Mulk. He said to Taapse, “You are not a B grade but an A grade actress.” Taapsee replied to this saying, “Thank you so much sir.”

Markandey Katju wrote further. “I was a lawyer for 20 yrs & Judge (in HC&SC) for 20 years, so I have known many lawyers. In ‘Mulk’, you appeared so much a real lawyer that for a moment while watching the film in California, I mistook you for a real one. Did you take tips from a real lawyer before performing that role?” Responding to Katju’s question, Taapsee said, “Yes sir. There was a lawyer on set the whole time to guide us.”

Katju wrote back to Taapsee again. He wrote too Taapsee, “You were very realistic in your role. I wish you were a real lawyer and had appeared before me in Court.”
