What Happened To Samantha’s Sakunthalam?

Long back, there is a huge buzz about the mythological film being made by director Gunasekhar which features star heroine Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the titular role of Sakuntala, is going to be a stunning treat.

And the posters of the film “Shakuntalam” feature Samantha already garnered attention due to her sensuous looks. But then, where is the film now?

If a film is ready for release these days, even though the film’s post-production work is pending, usually producers are starting the promotional events.

From releasing songs to teasers, and lyrical videos to hosting special meets, filmmakers do everything to grab attention. But here with Shakuntalam, even though the film’s shooting got wrapped almost a year ago in August 2021, there is no sign of any release or promotions.

Some say that director Gunasekhar is ready with the final cut, but co-producer Dil Raju is not happy with the output of the movie and other rumours are coming up that Samantha is unhappy with the whole happening and hence she distanced from the film.

Whatever may be the rumours are, fans of the star actress are expecting that her film will come to theatres soon as she was seen six months ago on the screen only in an item song.
