He is a young director who has a couple of hits behind. He has got a film with a happening hero and top production house. This film is supposed to be an entertainer with a solid conflict point.

However, this film went for a toss completely. More than laughs the film intended to, it became a draggy watch due to its huge run-time. Upon its release, the film got mixed word of mouth despite good reviews from critics. And the film’s collections are not in their favour. Now, the whole team is in reconciliation mode.

Buzz is that the director was so adamant about the huge run-time and he made his point to producers very clear that the film needs that length. The star producer who has experience of scoring several blockbusters tried to pacify the director but no luck. Reportedly, the director didn’t heed to anyone.

Now, inside buzz is that the film would have met a different fate had it chopped off unwanted scenes and trimmed it and made it crispier. Many in industry are opining that the director should had listened to producer at least.

Since at the end of the day, commercials matter most. The film may finally end up as a colossal flop in the career of the actor as well as the director despite getting positive reviews from critics.

The blessing in disguise is that there is no strong competition for the film in the coming week in which the makers are pinning high hopes to recover some monies in order to reduce some losses. Overall, it’s a big blunder by the director.
