Some negative talk is doing rounds that ace producer and director Karan Johar blasted Bollywood critics saying that they will not be appreciating Hindi Cinema if KGF was originally made in the Hindi language. However, the top celebrity of Bollywood has something else to say when he spoke to noted critic Anupama Chopra in another recent interview.
“South films, especially Telugu movies, are doing well in Bollywood and also in all other regions because the filmmakers there are so confident in their skill that they don’t listen to anyone for validation,” said Karan Johar quite outrightly. At the same time he felt quite happy for being associated with all these top blockbusters as he says, “I’m there at the launch of Baahubali 1 & 2, KGF, RRR and 2 Point O as well”. But then he denies giving any star touch to them. “I’ve nothing to do with Baahubali. It was all Rajamouli Sir’s creation”.
At the same time Karan Johar blasted Bollywood folks, especially the big directors, for getting carried away. “When biopic clicks, everyone goes after biopics. We lack conviction here. If we don’t get a conviction, we are s**ewed. And after KGF, we all wanted to do action movies as we are idiotically unconvinced. The likes of SS Rajamouli, Shankar Sir and Prashanth Neel just know what they are doing. We need to understand that” he added.
Whatever it may, Bollywood is currently worried to the core as to why Telugu movies are clicking big time there but original Hindi films are not working out.
