2022 is turning out to be the year of pan-India releases. Until now, we have seen the releases of pan-India films like Radhe Shyam, RRR, Vikram, and KGF 2. The next pan-India release is going to be Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra. After Brahmastra, we will have another pan-India release in the form of Ponniyin Selvan.
Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan is a historic drama that is being made in two parts. The first part, PS 1, will be released on September 30. There are only two and a half months left for the release of this film but still, there is no buzz about it.
Ponniyin Selvan features a big star cast that includes Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, and Sobhita Dhulipala. The makers have been releasing the character posters of the lead cast for the last few days.
However, these posters are unable to generate any buzz among audiences. It is heard that the teaser of the film will be released tomorrow (July 8).
It is the ultimate hope for the makers to create buzz among audiences. Otherwise, the film may suffer poor openings at the box office.
Ponniyin Selvan is being produced jointly by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies. AR Rahman is composing the music for it.
