Director Mani Ratnam’s historical period drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ had its teaser unveiled and Superstar Mahesh Babu has done the honours. The teaser is spell bound with lavish visuals all over.
The teaser doesn’t reveal about the plot but it has visuals of war ships storming, soldiers running all over in the battles and then we see the gigantic cast comprising Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sarath Kumar, Jayaram and others.
Aishwarya and Trisha confronting each other is probably the biggest highlight of the teaser. The eighty seconds video has just one dialogue and it is uttered by Vikram. ‘The Cholas are coming’ is another eye catcher.
Music maestro AR Rahman spills his magic with background score for the grand visuals and camera work is top notch. The production design stands out in the teaser and it shows the makers spent a bomb.
Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is releasing on pan India scale on September 30th.
