From the days when the overseas release was a privilege to the days when almost every movie is hitting the screens overseas, the cinema market is expanding to much bigger levels. Also, the monies and stakes involved are getting bigger with each release. But lately, the producers of Telugu films are sticking to self-made rules.
Earlier there used to be premiere shows of an overseas release on Thursday in the US as early as 9 AM PST. But this has changed big time and the producers are restricting the first-ever show in the US to coincide with the 9:30 AM IST Friday, the first show in India.
The reason behind this is heard to be the talk and reports about the movie from overseas. The overseas reports are believed to be influencing the footfalls at the theaters in India, hence the decision of the producers.
There were no early shows or benefit shows for the recent Virata Parvam, Pakka Commercial, and even the Warriorr is following the same policy. It is learnt that Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You and Ravi Teja’s Ramarao On Duty, Nikhil’s Karthikeya 2, Sita Ramam and Bimbisara are also going to continue this.
