Media Miscalculated My Words: Dil Raju On Thank You’s Ticket Rates

The advance bookings for star producer cum distributor Dil Raju’s forthcoming film, Thank You, finally commenced on Wednesday, just a couple of days before the film’s theatrical release. Movie lovers were in for a big surprise when they noticed Thank You’s tickets being sold for Rs 175 in some single screens in Hyderabad.

Incidentally, Dil Raju said in a recent promotional interview that he will cap Thank You’s ticket rates at Rs 100 in single screens and Rs 150 in multiplexes. Naturally, media houses and moviegoers were taken aback by this big difference in reality.

And Dil Raju has issued the much-needed clarification on Thank You’s ticket rates. Speaking at Thank You’s pre-release event in Hyderabad this morning, Dil Raju said that media has “miscalculated his words” and announced that Thank You’s ticket rates have been capped at Rs 150 (incl GST) in single screens and Rs 200 (incl GST) in multiplexes in cities like Hyderabad and Vizag.

Dil Raju further said that recent hits like Major and Vikram also followed the same ticket pricing and went on to add that all mid-range films will be screened for the same pricing from now on. Well, whether or not audiences will throng theaters with this ticket pricing will be known by this weekend.
