Gone are those days when films used to open with heavy footfalls and mind-blowing revenues. It all boiled down to finding one proper song, scene, or dialogue that could pull the crowds to theatres. The recent release, Vikranth Rona, is one example of the same. Although the film did not open grandly, the day one revenue hints something to the producers.
Telugu audiences are the best in the entire country. No matter the language in which the film was originally made, they always welcome it with open arms. Sudeep starter Vikranth Rona was originally made in Kannada but gained a decent buzz in Telugu because of the song ‘Rakkamma.’
The makers promoted it well, and many people hit theatres just for the song. The latest trade reports say that the movie scored an amount of 1.1Cr at the box office in both Telugu states. Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You, released amidst a huge promotional campaign, managed to score 1.65 Cr at the box office on the release day.
Going by the above numbers, it is clear that any medium-budget film with average content can do magic at the box office if promoted well and offered the film to the audience for reasonable ticket prices.
With Ravi Teja’s Rama Rao on Duty releasing today, we have to see if Sudeep can hold the grip of audiences at the box office as Vikranth Rona.
