Starting today, the shootings of all the big, medium and small budgeted movies have been halted indefinitely. The strike is a result of the Active Producer’s Guild’s decision to introspect and revive Tollywood from the sad state of affairs that impacted several producers in the past few months.
Due to the ongoing strike, the shootings of many high profile Telugu movies too have come to a sudden halt. However, one of the key members of the Active Producer’s Guild, Dil Raju, has decided to carry on with the shooting of his keenly awaited biggie, Varasudu, featuring Kollywood star Vijay. Needless to say, this has caught everyone by surprise.
And here’s the logic behind Dil Raju’s move. Varasudu (Varisu in Tamil) is a Telugu-Tamil bilingual, and the makers are simultaneously shooting it in both the languages.
Since the strike is applicable only to Telugu movies, Varasudu’s unit is continuing with the shooting formalities in Vizag. This will surely motivate a few other Tollywood producers to resume shootings of their pan-India films in the coming days.
