Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan lands in big trouble ahead of the release of his new film Lal Singh Chaddha. Billed to be Aamir Khan’s dream project, the film is the official remake of the Hollywood classic hit Forrest Gump. Already, social media is buzzing with the negative trend around the film. #BoycottLalSinghChaddha is trending nationwide.
Some people intentionally target the film based on Aamir Khan’s statements about India not being safe anymore. Aamir made these comments in 2015. Recollecting the same statements, some are trying to create a negative buzz around Lal Singh Chaddha.
Foreseeing the damage that may occur to the film, Aamir Khan stepped forward to urge the people not to boycott the film and watch it in theatres. Despite his appeal, the issue will not be closed anytime soon.
However, Bollywood’s trade pundits predict that this situation might benefit Akshay Kumar at the box office.
Lal Singh Chaddha is hitting the screens on August 11th. On the same day, Akshay Kumar arrives on the screens with his emotional family drama Raksha Bandhan. The trailer already prepared the audience for a feel-good emotional drama which is more or less similar to our Telugu hit film Hitler.
If the same negative trend continues for Lal Singh Chaddha, the film’s openings will be affected and help Akshay’s Raksha Bandhan attract the crowds. However, if Lal Singh Chaddha gets positive word of mouth, the film will be unstoppable at the box office despite any negative trend.
