Nikhil Siddhartha’s Karthikeya 2 is making strong noise in the Hindi belt. Released as a small film in Hindi with meager 60 screens, the mythological adventurous thriller has taken the BO by surprise. The Hindi-dubbed version raked in a Rs 1.45 Crore Nett in 3 days (Saturday, Sunday and Monday).
Saturday it made just Rs 7 Lakh, Sunday it made Rs 28 Lakh and on Independence Day it made Rs 1.10 Crore. Each day it witnessed 300 percent growth in its numbers which is phenomenal.
The Hindi-dubbed version was screened 157 shows on Saturday, 245 shows on Sunday and 274 shows on Independence Day. It is buzzed that initial screens were 60 that were later increased to 300 and now the total screens have been increased to 700 screens from Tuesday.
The film is released on Saturday missed out the crucial Friday opening. It faced biggies like Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan. The film released on very few screens. Despite all this, Karthikeya 2 Hindi is growing strong and showing its dominance in the North region.
Meanwhile, in the US, Karthikeya has breached half-million US dollars which is good feat.
