Congress Pushes YCP To Third Place!

As we had reported a couple of days ago, the Congress party was almost entirely wiped away from the municipal election seen as the party had no presence whatsoever. But things change drastically in the Chirala segment, and this came as a sudden surprise to everyone.

According to the latest developments, the TDP was able to successfully sweep the Chirala municipal seat, but Congress was able to put up a reasonable comeback here.

As per the statistics, the TDP won Chirala municipal chairperson election by 6,468 votes and the results across 44 wards are as below.

• TDP – 22/38
• Congress – 10/42
• YSRCP – 8/44
• Janasena – 2/4

The fact that the Congress won 10 out of the 42 words that it had contested is showing a remarkable sign of the resurgence of the party at least in Chirala constituency.

YSR Congress settled with third position in 35 out of the 44 wards it had contested. The party was significantly behind the Congress in the majority of the wards here. This was completely unexpected at the political level.

The arrival of senior leader Amanchi krishna Mohan in Congress appears to have changed the scene completely in favour of the party in Chirala segment. He had been looking to join the Janasena for a long time now, but eventually found his way in the Congress and the results are overwhelmingly evident here now.
