Rajamouli Decided To Stay Away From Father’s Film?

Other day, the teaser poster of star writer Vijayendra Prasad’s next film as a writer, “1770” got released, and it got superb hype too, but then, legendary director SS Rajamouli hasn’t shared it anywhere on his social media pages, triggering some doubts. And here are what rumors are saying about it.

Ever since Vijayendra Prasad got nominated for the Rajya Sabha by Bharatiya Janata Party it is being said that the star writer is slowly moving towards RSS agenda. Amidst these rumors, now the film 1770 got announced, which actually deals with the story of Sanyasi Rebels who first fought against the British East India Company though unsuccessfully. Now that it deals with Sanyasi Rebellion, it is being widely spread that the film might have a Hindutva agenda.

This upcoming film is actually based on Bankim Chandra’s Bengali novel Anandamath which was written in 1882. The book got famous for depicting the Sanyasi Rebellion through the eyes of a couple and also for featuring the song “Vande Mataram” in it, which later became the National Song. Already a film was made in Bollywood in 1952 based on the same book, and we can’t say that it will have RSS agenda.

Maybe Rajamouli hasn’t responded on the film yet as it happens to be just in pre-production stages with only a concept poster coming out, and he might talk about it once the teaser/trailer comes out.
