Actress Trisha Krishnan who shot to fame with ‘Varsham’ in Telugu, acted in many successful films in south Indian languages. Now Trisha is all set to take up a new profession and it is politics. It is being buzzed that Trisha has made up her mind to step into politics and it is being highly speculated that she might join the Congress party.
Some reports from the Tamil media suggest that actor Thalapathy Vijay is behind Trisha to take up politics. The ‘96’ heroine wants to see herself with the likes of MG Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa in politics and she might be preferring the Congress over the regional Tamil Nadu political parties i.e, DMK and AIADMK. It is still unclear whether there is any truth in these reports but they drew a lot of attention around Trisha.
From Tamil Nadu, no actor was successful in politics after Jayalalithaa. The likes of Vijayakanth, Khushbu and others tumbled in getting people’s confidence and votes. Khushbu joined the Congress and now is in the BJP. She contested the last Assembly polls and lost.
If the reports are true, Trisha has to do a huge battle. On the work front she is doing Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ and it is releasing on September 30th.
