Lack Of Puri’s Punch Costs Heavy For ‘Liger’

‘Liger’ which was supposed to be the number cruncher and massive hit of the year, turned out to be the biggest disaster of the decade. It is no secret that the film, which was sold for 90+ cr, couldn’t even recover one-third of it as it has been a washout from day two itself.

Deficits were recorded from Monday itself, which indicates that no collections could be added to the film. And sadly, only 25% has been recovered by the film. It looks like Puri Jagan is the one solely responsible for this. With a star like Vijay, he could have made a very ordinary flick and that would suffice to make the film a hit.

Nobody expects a mindblowing thriller from Puri. With his filmography in view, everyone expected a masala routine film with Puri’s punch in it, but he couldn’t even deliver his own mark in the film. Re-writing the heroine character & re-designing the Mike Tyson episode with a mere villain who becomes a sour obstacle for Liger’s journey would have made the film at least a sleeper hit.

All the hype generated by the team helped with ticket bookings, and that’s where it ends. It was the duty of Puri to entertain the audience who came to the theatre, and he failed miserably at it.

Even the slightest care & concern for the film from Puri would have changed the result today.
