PS-I Makers Ignoring Telugu Market?

After Brahmastra, the next pan-India biggie that is gearing up for release is Ponniyin Selvan part: 1. Directed by Mani Ratnam, this period drama is slated for worldwide release on September 30.

The film will definitely get good openings in Tamil Nadu. The makers should promote it aggressively in Telugu states too. Of late the Tamil filmmakers are releasing the dubbed versions here in Telugu without even changing the title from Tamil.

Of late, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have become the movie hubs of India. Even dubbed flicks are getting sensational openings here. We have witnessed this trend in the case of KGF 2 and Brahmastra. The makers of Brahmastra promoted the film aggressively in Hyderabad and the result is the movie’s Telugu version got more than expected revenue on its release day.

Mani Ratnam is a known face for Telugu folks and the same is the case with its lead actors. All the makers need to do is to promote the film aggressively in Telugu and make sure to get thumping openings here. It’s time for them to realize the potential of the Telugu market.
