‘Godfather’ Gets A Third, Long Way To Go

Coming out of the failure of “Acharya”, now Megastar Chiranjeevi has come out with flying colors as “Godfather” received a unanimous positive response. However, with the film being sold for a hefty 96+ crores when it comes to theatrical rights, trade circuits are keenly looking at the film’s box office collections now. And here is where it stands after 3 days of run.

In the first three days of release, “Godfather” collected Rs 25.4 crores share from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. If the collections from Overseas and other states are included, the film has amassed a total of Rs 32.5+ crores ‘share’ from the global box office. While this happens to be a decent run for the film without any doubt, but owing to the holiday season the film should actually make more money than this. One wonders why is the BO quite dull like this for a film with superhit talk. The film has to make nearly 100 crores from the global office to become a superhit, and so far it has collected only 1/3rd of it.

Reportedly mass centres are not doing that great when it comes to “Godfather” because the film lacks masala songs and comedy. It has whistle-worthy moments for fans as the film would be full of elevation scenes of the hero, but then, that is not enticing B&C centres much if the collections are anything to go by.
