Chiranjeevi’s Godfather emerged as a blockbuster. The collections are steady and the hit talk has given the team and particularly the Megastar a big relief. Speaking at the success celebrations, Chiranjeevi admitted that he shivered due to tension for a few hours.
When asked about how Chiranjeevi’s wife felt about the success and what she was thinking before the talk arrived, Chiru revealed many things frankly. Chiru said, ‘I was confident in the beginning, but Surekha was very dull the night before the movie release. Looking at her I got shattered inside. I recalled the adverse incidents from the past that happened when we thought the movie would do good. A kind of fear surrounded us giving us the feeling on we don’t know what will happen at the last minute. I could not sleep that night.
‘In the early morning, I got calls from the producer saying that there are good reports coming from London shows and there is a close friend who called me from the US saying that my look, attire, and walk are very good. I got more worried now because he was not talking about how the movie actually is. I got relieved only after I received calls from Anil Sunkara and Mythri Naveen telling me that the movie is excellent and has been receiving positive reports from all corners. It is true that I got shivering during those hours before I realized the actual talk of the movie’, Chiru said.
Telling all this, Chiranjeevi says that no matter how many movies you make and how much experience to have each film is unique. The megastar thanked the audience and his team for making this a humongous blockbuster as good as an Indra and a Tagore movie.
Chiranjeevi further said that he got calm and subtle after learning that Godfather is a success. He called it a beautiful experience to getting success after a lot of hard work.
Talking about how Mohan Raja came into the picture and how Lucifer happened, Chiru said that it was Charan who brought this topic to him asking how would it be to remake a Lucifer. Chiru said he was hesitant because this turns out to be an experiment that may not go well for his stardom. But said, he got confident only after Charan and Prasad suggested the name of Mohan Raja for the direction.
We wanted more cruelty for Satya Dev’s character towards the end. Mohan Raja took his time and reworked it. The new version gave completeness. I watch every movie as a critic and will try to look for negatives so that I can correct them.
