Superstar’s Film OTT Rights Sold For ₹100 Cr?

Already big films are being bought by big OTT platforms for exorbitant prices. In recent times it has come out that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s “Godfather” and “Waltair Veerayya” are acquired by streaming giant Netflix each for more than ₹50+ crores. And it looks like the leading platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hotstar are going to increase their investment in the coming days to acquire many biggies.

One of the upcoming Bollywood films is Jawaan which has a stellar combination for the audience to get kicked about. Featuring Shahrukh Khan and Nayantara in the leads, the film has talented commercial director Atlee carving it, while Vijay Sethupati plays the role of villain and Thalapathy Vijay will be seen in a special cameo and song. More than that, the film’s music is composed by young sensation Anirudh who never disappoints with films of Atlee. This mega combination has now led to a staggering offer for the film.

According to the grapevine, Amazon Prime Video is said to have offered more than ₹100 crores to acquire the digital streaming rights of “Jawaan” for all the languages. The makers are said to have quoted nearly ₹150 crores to give the rights and currently negotiations are said to be going on. As the film features North and South in combination with SRK being the top star there and rest of the cast-crew being toppers here in the South, surely Amazon will make the most out of this film.
