Box Office: Telugu Audiences Loving It Big Time

Last week we have seen three films hitting the box office amidst the good going “Godfather” and other films at the box office. Two small films, Aadi Saikumar’s “Crazy Fellow” and Viswanth’s “Boyfriend For Hire” got released last Friday, while Kannada dubbed movie, Rishab Shetty’s “Kantara” was released on Oct 15th. Here are how they are faring now.

Though “Boyfriend For Hire” was well promoted, the film hasn’t received any good openings. That too with reviews turning out to be quite poor for the movie, and the film’s lack of proper entertainment quotient with sloppy narrative and illogical scenes, there are no takers for the film by Saturday itself. At the same time, Aadi Saikumar’s back-to-back attack on the box office with almost three films in a row in the last 6 months isn’t going well as his “Crazy Fellow” didn’t even get the minimum attention. The weekend turned out to be pretty disastrous for these two movies.

On the other hand, Geetha Arts backed “Kantara”, which has released without big promotions, with the movie team just attending only one press meet here, did the unthinkable, thanks to the crazy reviews from all quarters. The film has collected ₹4+ crores gross in just two days of release, thus proving that Telugu audiences are loving it big time. Until next Friday when some happening movies are likely to hit cinemas, Kantara will have a stupendous run at the Telugu states’ box office.

On Oct 21, we have Vishwaksen’s Ori Devuda, Manchu Vishnu’s Ginna, Karthi’s Sardar and Siva Karthikeyan’s Prince hitting the cinemas.
