For reasons best known to themselves, the world’s popular OTT platform Netflix which is trying to expand its Indian foothold in a strong way is buying Megastar Chiranjeevi’s movies back to back. Already the top OTT app acquired the rights of “Godfather” for an exuberant price and they have also got the rights of “Waltair Veerayya” and “Bhola Shankar” as well if insiders are to be believed.
Other day, after the release of the title revelation video where Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mass Poonakam has really stunned mega fans, we hear that Netflix has sent a new proposal to the production house. The initial deal from Netflix is to screen the film Waltair Veerayya 50 days after the release of the movie in theatres and the streaming giant is said to have acquired this at whopping price. And the latest deal is that, if the makers allow them to stream the movie just 3 weeks after the release, or 2 weeks, then they are going to add more crores to the payment.
While the offered amount hasn’t come out so far, it’s being heard that Netflix want to increase the payment by almost 30% if the makers of “Waltair Veerayya” agree to the deal. One wonders if the mass film that is coming out from Chiru and Bobby Kolli is worth getting bought at a such hefty price, but it looks like Netflix doesn’t want to give up a Chiru film.
