Despite Hype & Good Reviews, Still Low Collections

With Allu Arjun lifting the film to the sky with the success meet of Allu Sirish’s Oorvasivo Rakshasivo, surely everyone is thinking that the film might be minting huge bucks at the box office. Though it made decent money, surprising thing is that the film’s first-weekend collection is nowhere near what Sirish’s previous films collected.

Directed by Rakesh Sasi, the mega hero’s latest film Oorvasivo Rakshasivo collected only ₹3.75+ crores gross from the worldwide box office if the early reports are anything to go by. Rated 2.5 stars to 3 stars from almost all the critics, the film got a bit of above-average reviews, but it looks like the magnetic pull of the audience towards theatres is not as expected.

If we get into the previous collections made by Allu Sirish’s movies, his Srirastu Subhamastu fetched almost ₹9.9 crores in the first week and going by the current trend, it looks like “Oorvasivo Rakshasivo” is nowhere near it, to break the records. Later the mega hero’s Okka Kshanam grossed around ₹7 crores and ABCD fetched ₹6+ crores gross in the first weekend. Definitely, post covid situation, the absence of Sirish in theatres for almost 4 years, has all taken a toll on the movie it looks like.

On the other hand, among all the releases we have seen last Friday including the likes of “Like, Share & Subscribe”, and “Bomma Blockbuster”, Sirish’s film is the one only that actually made its presence felt.
