Boxoffice: A Mega Showdown From Samantha

Samantha’s latest film “Yashodha” got released without any big promotions as the actress is suffering from an illness. However, the film showcased that Samantha could pull good numbers even with a simple thriller that doesn’t have any big twists. Over the weekend, Yashodha witnessed massive growth at the box office, though it has a long way to recover the total theatrical cost. 

On its first weekend, Yashodha collected ₹4.6 crores from the Telugu states which is a big thing as no other recent Telugu films of any Tier-2 hero have recovered that much. And with the US box-office giving a share of ₹1.4+ crores, and the rest of India adding another ₹1.5+ crores, Samantha’s Yashodha clocked a total of ₹7.5+ crores from its first weekend. That’s a mega showdown from Samantha for sure, though the film has to collect approximately a total of ₹22+ crores from the worldwide theatricals to be termed a hit project. 

On the other hand, this Monday is going to be crucial for the Samantha starrer directed by Hari-Harish, and if the film could hold its grip over the box office, surely it is going to make it big. As there are no other notable releases even this week, Yashodha has this uncanny advantage for sure.
