Kerala’s popular music band Thaikkudam Bridge accused the makers of “Kantara” of plagiarising their song “Navarasam” in the name of “Varaha Roopam”. They have even approached the Court seeking removal of the song from the film and YouTube and other streaming sites as well. And now that got extended to Amazon Prime Video.
Since last night, with Kantara releasing on Amazon Prime, people are rushing to watch it. Though the controversial Varaha Roopam song was played for some time, now Amazon realised the importance of the legal suit and removed the song. In that place, another song has been placed. Though we can’t say that Varaha Roopam is the one that led to the biggest success of Kantara, the song surely played a vital role as a background score to hook the audience to screens, it is the soul of the film.
Praising this act from an Amazon Prime video, Thaikkudam Bridge has once again taken to their Instagram thanking their lawyers and a Malayalam media house for getting the plagiarised version of Varaha Roopam removed. The music band claimed, “Justice Prevails”.
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, who also played the leading man in the movie, Kantara has music scored by Ajneesh Loknath.
