Why Did Award Winning Director fail Like This? 

It starts as a love story, then takes turns as a plastic surgery miracle film, but ends up as a story on ‘marital rape’. That doesn’t end there. It turns out into a revenge story and then a courtroom drama.

These many shifts in the screenplay of the film usually don’t work and one wonders why the director of a film like ‘Colour Photo’ has chosen to write a story like this. We are talking about the film “Mukachitram” that was released last Friday. 

Without directing the film, Color Photo fame Sandeep Raj provided the story, screenplay and dialogues for Mukachitram, and they say that he’s the unseen director of the film too.

However, the story is quite cliched and everything in the movie happens as per the convenience of the writer-director but that organic narrative flow is missing. While Color Photo is the epitome of emotions and the drama hits all the strings perfectly, one wonders why such a director has failed to come up with a pleasing, effective and box office-worthy story. 

After Color Photo emerged as a National Award-winning film, there are many hopes and expectations for Sandeep Raj’s Mukachitram but somehow the film hasn’t gotten the required traction even after the release of the trailer. And now, the film got washed away at the box office within the first weekend of the release itself.
