Talk: Annapurna Lagging Behind Others!

One of the biggest production houses in the Telugu Film Industry at one point of time used to be Annapurna Studios which is being spearheaded by Akkineni Nagarjuna, while it was started by legendary ANR years ago. But it looks, from the outside, currently Annapurna Studios is mostly into providing post-production services to many Telugu biggies, but not making its presence in terms of movie production. 

Back then, Annapurna Studios came up with some super-hit films like Siva, Ninne Pelladutha, Manmadhudu and Mass. But in recent times, most of their production ventures like Hello, Rangula Ratnam, Manmadhudu 2, Anubhavinchu Raja and Bangarraju, haven’t really excited anyone. Except for a couple of them, the rest of the films have flopped at the box office. Of course, flops are common for any production house, but here’s what people are thinking about this studio. 

Apparently, the likes of Geetha Arts, Suresh Productions, Mythri Movie Makers, Dil Raju’s SVC, and Haarika & Haasini have emerged as big players in recent times though most of them don’t own a studio setup like Annapurna.

They are delivering at least one big hit in a year and are also making more movies than Annapurna would do. This is actually wondering what Nagarjuna Akkineni is thinking about this studio and the number of films they produce. One wonders why the productions have come down from this banner. 

After making huge noise with his production ventures, even Ramoji Rao stopped producing movies on both Usha Kiran Movies and Ramoji Film City banners as well, thus shocking everyone. Hope Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studio won’t go that way.
