Deepika’s Saffron Dress In SRK’s Film Sparks Controversy Again

King is one of the upcoming Hindi films, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The film already generated a lot of criticism for a song Tu Mil Jaaye, that was already released from the film. Many pointed out the over usage of VFX in the song. Now, the song attracted a fresh controversy. BJP MLA Ravinder Singh Negi objected to Deepika Padukone’s saffron outfit in the song.

Ravinder Singh called SRK a Jihadi and also alleged that Deepika’s saffron bikini in the song was was an attempt to defame Sanatan Dharma. He also drew parallels with the saffron bikini controversy surrounding Deepika’s Besharam Rang from Pathaan. The MLA warned that there will be nation wide protests if the makers do not change the dress color in the song.

Negi reminded that SRK’s Pathaan invited a lot of protests from the Hindu organisations and threatened that it would be repeated again if team King do not alter the color of Deepika’s bikini. As of now, neither Shah Rukh nor Deepika had responded to these remarks going viral on social media.

By the time the film inches close to the release, there would be much more noise similar to this. All of this would only bring more attention and promotions to the film.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film is produced by Gauri Khan and Mamta Anand via Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. The film is scheduled for a grand release on December 24th this year.
