Kantara 2 Will Be A Prequel, Rishab Shetty Reveals

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara turned into a sensation and it even made it to the list of Oscar qualifications. Needless to mention the box office wonders it created. And now the focus shifted to the next part of Kantara.

There were speculations earlier that Kantara 2 will be a sequel if not a prequel. In the latest update from the horse’s mouth, Kantara 2 is all gearing up as a prequel for the first part. Rishab Shetty in a recent interview revealed that Kantara 2 script is being worked on and it is a prequel.

According to Rishab Shetty, Kantara 2 will show the happenings before Kantara. There will be a lot of scenes related to Punjurli and the movie will be released in the latter half of 2024. Kantara 2 will also show the villagers, guliga daivam. There will be crucial scenes on how the villagers tried to save their land and many episodes will be in the rain background.

Kantara was earlier released in Kannada and the reception made the makers dub and release it in other languages. Kantara collected nearly 400 cr rupees in gross at the box office.
