13 years of Samantha: A Star and A Fighter!

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the top actresses in the country right now. She started off her career with the blockbuster romantic drama Ye Maya Chesave. It has been 13 years since this film hit the screens. Today, Samantha completes 13 years of her glorious career.

After scoring a blockbuster with her maiden film Ye Maaya Chesave, Samantha scored multiple hits like Brindavanam, Dookudu and Eega. By this time, she attained stardom in Telugu. It was the 2014 release, Kaththi, which brought Samantha stardom in Tamil.

Until now, Samantha acted in various successful Tamil and Telugu films like Atharintiki Daredi, Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Manam, S/O Satyamurthy, Theri, 24, A Aa, Mersal, Janatha Garage, Rangasthalam, Mahanati, Super Deluxe, Majili, Oh! Baby and Yashoda.

Samantha is one of the few heroines who scored hits with multiple heroine-oriented movies. Until now, she won four Filmfare Awards, two Nandi Awards, one Tamil Nadu State Film Award and six SIIMA awards.

Samantha made her Hindi debut with the popular web series The Family Man. It brought her wide recognition. Her appearance in the item song Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava also made her popular across the country.

In 2017, Samantha married Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya. Things didn’t go well between the couple and they got separated in 2021. In 2022, Samantha was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease called Myositis. Due to this, she had to take a break for a few months. Now, she is back to work.

Samantha is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming film Shaakuntalam. It will have a pan-India release on April 14. Apart from that, she is also acting in Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming web series Citadel.

In these 13 years, Samantha faced many ups and downs in both her personal and professional lives. But she fought hard and still manages to remain one of the top actresses in Indian cinema. We congratulate her on this occasion and we hope she continues to rule the industry for many more years.
