Tollywood Box Office: Six Hits in Three Months

We are done with the first quarter of 2023, and until now, six films managed to strike gold at the box office. Each month delivered two super hits at the theatres. Here is a look at them.

Veera Simha Reddy
Starring Balakrishna in the lead role, this Gopichand Malineni directorial hit the screens on January 12. Veera Simha Reddy got thunderous openings at the box office. The Sankranthi festival season helped the movie in becoming a hit venture. It collected a share of around Rs. 76 crores in its full run.

Waltair Veerayya
Megastar Chiranjeevi scored a blockbuster with Waltair Veerayya this year. This Bobby directorial collected a total share of more than 135 crores and has stood as the top grosser of this year.

Writer Padmabhushan
This slice-of-life drama was released on February 3. Starring Suhas in the lead role, this film was made on a minimal budget of around two crores and collected more than four crores at the box office.

Sir
Dhanus’s first Telugu film, Sir, was a big box-office success. This Venky Atluri directorial performed well in Tamil and Telugu and became a super hit.

Balagam
This is the biggest surprise hit of this year. No one knows about the film until it hit the theatres. Once released, it created a storm at the box office by collecting more than 15 crores. It is heard that the film was made on a shoestring budget.

Dasara
Natural Star Nani came up with his maiden pan-India film Dasara. It got sensational openings due to excessive promotions and exciting teaser and trailer. Upon its release, the film got positive talk as well. It will end up as the career-biggest grosser for Nani.
