Taking a leaf from Megastar Chiranjeevi, who used to demand a share in the distribution rights of a movie he’s part of, rather taking some remuneration and settling down, Mahesh Babu floated his own production house which will have legal share in the nett profits of a film. And the rest of the heroes are following it now.
Amidst this, even talented directors like Koratala Siva started to demand to get a share in nett profits rather walking away with some pay packet.
While Koratala got his friends acting as the share-holders for his part, now director Surender Reddy has floated his own banner, for his upcoming film with Akhil Akkineni in the lead. The name “Surrender 2 Cinema” on the announcement poster of #Akhil5 explains this.
And with this banner, there comes an old discussion into the scene as to how rumours have come out that Surender Reddy approached Film Chamber with Ram Charan not clearing him off remuneration related to Sye Raa movie.
Looks like the director has learned his lesson and now that he’s part of the production, he will be sharing both profits and losses equally as per the percentage of cut he takes in.
