Opinion: Sharing Personal Pain Not Helping Samantha

Queen Bee Samantha wanted to make it very big with her latest movie Shaakuntalam and she promoted it aggressively in Mumbai as well hoping that the Hindi version works big time. During that process, she presented herself in a spicy avatar for Bollywood interviews and interacted with many media folks. But then, something that used to work for here hasn’t worked there.

In most of the interviews, Samantha spoke about her personal pain, divorce, the times after getting separated, and all. She spoke about giving her 100% best for the marriage which didn’t work out and later added that choosing to do Oo Antava song at that time also happened to be a tough decision.

All these things revealed by Samantha have become viral news in the South, but they haven’t excited the people in Delhi, Gujrat and other Bollywood territories. Apparently, the film didn’t get even minimum attention in those circles and has been a washout on Day 1 itself.

Probably to improve her Bollywood market, Samantha should do a straight Hindi film and prove are should do some strong content-oriented film that will suit the nativity factor of the Hindi audience. Otherwise, sharing this personal pain alone won’t help the actress get that box-office ruling queen bee image in the Hindi hinterlands.
