IPL: Virat Kohli Back As RCB Captain

In what could be a surprise, star cricketer Virat Kohli has returned to the captain role of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team. In today’s Indian Premier League match, Virat Kohli walked in as the captain for the toss. Another surprising thing is, the regular captain Faf du Plessis was still part of the playing eleven.

With Virat Kohli returning as RCB skipper, the social media went abuzz. RCB Twitter handle clarified this whole episode and added that Virat Kohli is just the stand-in captain. “The sight we’ve missed for so long! King Kohli back in charge! Only smiles on the faces of both stand-in captains!” tweeted RCB’s social media handles.

But why was Virat Kohli given charge despite Faf du Plessis having part of the squad for the match. Nevertheless, King Kohli fans erupted in celebrations because they know that Kohli brings royal energy and excitement to the game, when he is leading the team.

Virat Kohli lost the toss to Punjab Kings’ captain Sam Curran but he scored yet another half century. With this record, Kohli posted a couple of more records and they are, scored 30 plus runs, a hundred times in IPL and 600 fours overall. Virat Kohli, a name meant for records after all.
