Custody Reminding Of Two Hollywood Movies?

Naga Chaitanya’s Custody trailer came out last night and it is intriguing and promising. The intense thriller appears to be a story of a constable who is willing to go to any extent for the truth and justice. He takes up the task of bringing an arrested notorious criminal to the court against the will of the whole department of his own.

While the trailer looked tight and gripping, the baseline seems to remind two cult Hollywood movies. They are the Ethan Hawke’s ‘Assault At The Precinct 13′ and Bruce Willis’s ’16 Blocks’.
‘Assault At Precinct 13’ story has a policeman fighting against the bigwigs of the Police department who are trying to kill a gangster in custody at the precinct on new year’s Eve.

Bruce Willis’ ’16 Blocks’ also has a similar story where a cop who is about to retire soon will be given a task to bring an accused to court which is just 16 Blocks away but had to face a hell of a lot of hurdles in the process.

In fact, there is one famous Bollywood movie Khakee, an Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan starrer that goes along the same lines. Well, movies could be similar and it has to be seen if this Venkat Prabhu directional has just the shades of those movies or entirely lifted from them.

Chay’s Custody is releasing on May 12. Kriti Shetty is the female lead.
